Johnson: Union more important than Brexit

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Tuesday that he believes that preserving the country's unity is more important than Brexit.

Speaking at the ITV general election debate, Johnson insisted that his deal with Brussels keeps the whole of the UK together and maintained that his timeline of delivering Brexit and negotiating a trade deal with the United States by December 2020 is viable.

His opponent, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn reiterated his belief that the government's Brexit deal is "damaging" to the country and vowed to push for a second referendum on leaving the European Union. Corbyn also denied his party had made any deal with the Scottish National Party on banding together in exchange for holding a second Scottish independence referendum.
