Trump defends serviceman's Navy SEAL title

Edward Gallagher, Navy SEAL who was convicted of committing a crime of posing for a photo with a corpse in Iraq will not have his title stripped, United States President Donald Trump announced on Twitter. The serviceman was initially charged also for premeditated murder, attempted murder and obstruction of justice, but then acquitted on those charges in July this year. Gallagher was also demoted from Chief Petty Officer to Petty Officer First Class. Trump and recently said he would be granted clemency and keep his insignia.

"The Navy will NOT be taking away Warfighter and Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher’s Trident Pin. This case was handled very badly from the beginning. Get back to business!" Trump posted on his personal profile.
