Fed’s Kashkari: There are risks on the horizon

Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari said on Thursday the United States consumer is strong and that the economy has the potential to grow further. Speaking at the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Kashkari added his base cast forecast anticipates growth and that he is not predicting an upcoming recession.

However, he warned that there "are risks on the horizon, the biggest risks being around tariffs and trade and the uncertainty that creates," and stressed that business investment is down due because of this.

Kashkari noted that wages for entry-level jobs are rising and commented: "These folks are long overdue for a raise."
