Lam strongly disagrees with US HK bills

Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carry Lam said on Tuesday that she "strongly opposes" the recently passed bills by the United States authorities, which support anti-government protesters in the Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

She added that the controversy created by the adoption of the bills will "impact business confidence." Lam also stated that she anticipates a fiscal deficit in the next two years, while noting that Hong Kong authorities will soon institute new relief measures for the region's economy.

Lam also mentioned that Hong Kong's Justice Secretary Teresa Cheng is "still on sick leave" after suffering injuries in London following a conflict with protesters in the British capital.
