Up to US what gift it will choose to get - Pyongyang
Ri Thae-song, the North Korean Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the United States Affairs, stated on Tuesday that "it is entirely up to the US what Christmas gift it will select to get," regarding the year-end deadline Pyongyang set for Washington to present a new offer in the denuclearization dialogue.
To the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the denuclearization negotiations seem like just a small segment of the next year's US presidential election campaign and a "foolish trick" by the American authorities, the diplomat pointed out in a statement published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
He also noted that "DPRK has done its utmost with maximum perseverance not to backtrack from the important steps it has taken on its own initiative."
