Wall Street opens flat amid trade developments

Stocks in the United States markets opened flat on Tuesday following a report that claimed that Washington and Beijing are prepared to postpone tariffs which were scheduled to kick in on December 15. Meanwhile, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross stated that the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is "within inches" of being ratified.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index was flat at the opening bell, while the Walt Disney Co. fell the most, declining by 0.61% at 9:31 am ET. The Nasdaq 100 was flat at the start of the trading session. Netflix led the losses, decreasing by 2.14% at 9:36 am ET. The S&P 500 was flat at the open, while AutoZone Inc. was the best performer, jumping 5.57% at 9:33 am ET.

The euro was 0.14% higher compared to the dollar to trade at 1.10803 at 9:32 am ET, while the pound increased by 0.23% against the US currency, going for 1.31799 at the same time.
