US stealing, selling Syria oil through Turkey - Assad
"The Turkish regime plays a direct part in selling the oil, previously with al-Nusra, later with ISIS and today with the Americans," Syrian President Bashar al-Assad claimed in an interview with Pheonix TV on Monday, dubbing Ankara the US's "accomplice" in "stealing and selling" Syrian oil. As a result, the president added, Syrian oil returns have "dropped to almost zero."
In order to deal with the US, Assad underlined, "terrorists must be attacked" as this is the only way to "weaken the American presence." If the US opted to remain in Syria even after all terrorists have been eliminated, it will "pay the price" of "popular resistance," as it has been the case in Iraq, the Syrian leader said.
"Ultimately, the Americans will leave," Assad stressed.
