Iran's Zarif accuses Trump of planning 'war crimes'

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif took to Twitter on Tuesday to protest the United States decision to deny him a visa, but stressed that move is nothing compared to "war crimes" and "crimes against humanity" planned by the US, as well as sanctions Washington keeps imposing against Iran.

"Denying me a visa in violation of 1947 UNHQ Agreement pales in comparison to: Pompeo's threat to starve Iranians (crime against humanity), Trump's bluster about cultural heritage (war crime), #EconomicTerrorism, Cowardly assassination," Zarif wrote. "But what are they really afraid of? Truth?" he added.

Earlier, Trump said he would target important Iranian cultural sites in case Tehran attacked American citizens in response to Washington's killing of IRGC Quds Force head Qassem Soleimani.
