Libya's ceasefire deal not signed - Russian FM

Russian Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday that Libyan National Army leader Khalifa Haftar left Moscow without signing the ceasefire agreement with the UN-backed Government of National Accord's head Fayez al-Sarraj, after hours of negotiations.

"The agreement ignores many of the Libyan Army's demands," Haftar claimed in the statement for Al Arabiya television.

At the press conference following the event, Russia's Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov said that "if Libya could become a second Syria, I believe the Libyan people will benefit from this. Unfortunately, there is no statehood in Libya so far," adding that NATO is responsible for destroying Libya's statehood.
