API measures increase in US oil inventories - report

Crude oil inventories in the United States increased by 1.1 million barrels in the week ending January 10, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly showed on Tuesday. Reserves in Cushing, Oklahoma, reportedly declined by 67,000 barrels.

Apparently, gasoline stockpiles rose by 3.2 million barrels, while distillate inventories jumped by 6.8 million barrels.

Brent for March deliveries gained 0.54% to go for $64.52 per barrel at 4:37 pm ET, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in February was 0.28% up, selling for $58.29 per barrel at 4:36 pm ET.
