UnitedHealth revenue climbs 4.3% to $61B in Q4

American healthcare company UnitedHealth Group Inc. said on Wednesday its net earnings per share (EPS) for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2019 increased annually by 19% to stand at $3.68. At the same time, revenues rose from $58.4 billion to $60.9 billion, an increase of 4.28%.

Earnings from operations amounted to $5.1 billion in the last three months of last year, up from $4.5 billion in the corresponding period a year before. Net margin also increased by 0.6 percentage points to stand at 5.8%.

The company which owns UnitedHealthcare also said that annual revenues came in at $242.2 billion ending with December 31, 2019, rising 7% from 2018, while earnings from operations totaled $19.7 billion for the whole of 2019, compared to $17.3 billion in the year before. Besides the company's largest unit, UnitedHealthcare, Optum also recorded upbeat results on both an annual and quarterly basis.
