Moody's sees UK GDP growth at 1% in 2020

The gross domestic product (GDP) of the United Kingdom is likely to increase 1% this year, Moody's Investor Service said on Monday.

The rating agency added the economy will slow while hose price inflation is seen as remaining flat at around 0.8% for a number of years. Moody's added that the credit quality of new securitizations and covered bonds will stay stable as Brexit takes place in 2020 and the stability will mostly be derived from low unemployment and interest rates.

However, consumer sentiment may still be low as Brexit dampens shoppers' confidence.
