McDonald's posts EPS of $2.08 in Q4

McDonald's posted on Wednesday its earnings for the fourth quarter of 2019. Earning per share is $2.08 for the quarter which is 14% more than $1.82 from the same quarter in 2018. Revenue in the fourth quarter was $5.35 billion, up by 3.7% annually.

The fast-food giant had a net income of $1.57 billion, which improved 11% on the year. Meanwhile, operating income was 15% higher than in the fourth quarter of 2018 and stood at $2.3 billion. The company added its global comparable sales grew by 5.9% showing increases in the International operating segment of 6.1%, the United States of 5.0%, and the International developmental licensed segment of 7.2%.

"In 2019, we completed our three-year cash return to shareholders target of $25 billion. This was a significant achievement given our substantial investments in Experience of the Future and technology," said Kevin Ozan, McDonald's Chief Financial Officer.

The stocks of the company rose by 0.53% in the premarket to $211.
