Dow Jones jumps over 250 points at open

Stocks on Wall Street started off trading on Wednesday with strong gains after a reported breakthrough in treatment for people infected with the Wuhan coronavirus.

Strong jobs data also boosted stocks as the ADP National Employment Report revealed the US private sector added 291,000 jobs in January, significantly above expectations.

The Dow Jones climbed over 250 points at the open, led higher UnitedHealth, Caterpillar and Intel. The S&P 500 jumped 1% as beauty company Coty rocketed over 20% after reporting strong earnings. The Nasdaq 100 surged 1.15%; Cerner Corp led the gains.
