Europe lower in premarket as 900 die of coronavirus

Sentiment in Europe was diminished on Monday as the coronavirus weighed on global economic expectations as the death toll from the virus exceeded 900. Meanwhile, weather warnings stayed in place across Europe over strong winds after power outages and travel disruptions were reported a day earlier on the continent.

The DAX in Germany declined 0.08% at 7:23 am CET. The FTSE 100 lost 0.14% at 7:24 am CET and the CAC 400 was 0.15% in the red at 7:22 am CET.

The euro was 0.07% up compared to the dollar, going for 1.09544 at 7:25 am CET. The pound gained 0.17% against the greenback to trade for 1.29060 at 7:26 am CET.
