UK's Gove confirms EU border checks from 2021

United Kingdom Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove told domestic companies on Monday that export to Europe will be "significantly changed," as obligatory border checks will be introduced from 2021 for almost all firms that export goods to the European Union.

"You have to accept we will need some friction. We will minimize it but it is an inevitability of our departure. I don’t underestimate the fact that this is a significant change, but we have time now to make that change," claimed Gove.

Last week, reports suggested that French President Emmanuel Macron requested that the UK must be forced by the European Commission to modify its laws to match future EU rules.
