No dramatic impact on oil prices from virus - US energy sec

United States Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette stated on Thursday that, even if the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak causes Chinese oil markets to decline by half a million barrels per day, he expects "no dramatic impact" on prices.

He noted that there has been a decrease in Beijing's purchases in the energy sector, but stressed that the negative consequences of the epidemic on oil markets are "marginal."

On Tuesday, Brouillette said the US was not concerned with any OPEC decision regarding oil output cuts.
