American Airlines defers 737 MAX flights to August

American Airlines issued an update on the Boeing 737 MAX on Friday, stating that it expects aircraft will return to service on August 18, instead of June 4 as originally planned.

By making this statement, Americal Airlines joined United Airline's decision from earlier today of pulling Boeing's 737 MAX aircraft from planned flight schedule until September.

Boeing's shares dropped 0.17% in the after-hours trading, as the company struggled to recover from problems caused by flawed 737 MAX planes.
