Iran won't talk to US under pressure - Rouhani

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that his country will never hold talks with the United States under pressure, insisting that Iran's help is necessary for ensuring stability and peace in the Middle East.

"Iran will never negotiate under pressure. We will never yield to America’s pressure and we will not negotiate from a position of weakness. America’s maximum pressure [policy] towards Iran is doomed to failure," claimed Rouhani.

Earlier in the day, Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi stated that the country's prosecutor's office started an international legal case over the killing of Iran's Quds Force General Qassem Soleimani by the US on January 3.
