Booking reports Q4 revenue at $3.3B, up 4% YoY

Booking Holdings Inc. announced on Wednesday its revenue in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2019 rose 4% on an annual basis to $3.3 billion. Net income in the same period stood at $1.2 billion, jumping 81% compared to the prior year. Per diluted share, this amounted to $27.75, a 100% increase year-over-year.

For the full fiscal 2019, revenues were up 4% to $15.1 billion versus the prior year, while net income improved 22%. Earnings per diluted share stood at $111.82, growing 34% YoY.

The number of rooms booked in the Q4 advanced 12% versus the same quarter in 2018, standing at 191 million. Car rentals increased 12% to 16 million, while the number of airline ticket sales rose 11% to 2 million.

Booking warned the coronavirus caused a significant negative impact during the first quarter. While the company said it cannot predict to what degree the outbreak will affect its Q1 results, it expected the number of room nights booked to drop between 5% and 10%. Revenues are seen declining 3% or 7%.
