UK to back all firms hurt by outbreak - Johnson

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated on Thursday that Downing Street will ensure to back all companies that need support due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

Speaking in an interview for ITV, Johnson said that the country's economy is "very robust" and that the first post-Brexit UK budget, set to be revealed on March 11, will include actions aimed to "help business and help the economy generally."

Johnson says the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) is considering canceling big gatherings and closing down schools. However, scientists warned him that those measures "perhaps don't work as well as people think" when it comes to preventing the spread of the virus.
