COVID-19 cases in Spain surge almost 2K in one day

The Spanish government stated on Tuesday that it recorded almost 2,000 new coronavirus cases in the country, with 149 new deaths in the past 24 hours. Director of the Center for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies Fernando Simon said that starting today the country would test every person exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

Newly registered COVID-19 cases continue to go up despite the enhanced preventive measures, as discovered infections in the country yesterday increased by almost 1,000.

Last week, the country's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez declared a state of emergency and imposed lockdown in the country to prevent the coronavirus crisis from deepening.
