Boeing considers slashing dividend, work force - report

The Boeing Co. is mulling cutting its dividend, while also considering laying off employees amid major disruption in the airline industry, sources familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Thursday. In addition, sources said that the Chicago based company is ready for a potential halt in production, as it's trying to overcome the problem with its 737 MAX, which has been grounded for more than a year.

Earlier on Tuesday, the airline maker expressed its support for a $60 billion aid that the United States President and his administration aimed to help the aerospace industry in fighting against the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The shares of Boeing slumped almost 3% changing hands at $99 at 1:16 pm ET.
