Boeing temporarily shuts Puget Sound plant due to COVID-19

As of March 25, Boeing will halt all operations at its Puget Sound factory in the state of Washington for two weeks, citing concerns over the spread of coronavirus.

"These actions are being taken to ensure the well-being of employees, their families and the local community, and will include an orderly shutdown consistent with the requirements of its customers," the company said in a statement.

Employees who can work from home will continue to do so, the statement noted, adding that paid leave would be provided for everyone else for the initial 10 working days of the suspension.
