API measures decrease in US oil inventories - report

Crude oil inventories in the United States decreased by 1.25 million barrels in the week ending March 20, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly showed on Tuesday. Reserves in Cushing, Oklahoma, allegedly grew by 1.07 million barrels.

Gasoline stockpiles dropped by 2.62 million barrels, while distillate inventories declined by 1.9 million barrels, according to the report.

Brent for May deliveries lost 0.40% to go for $21.42 per barrel at 4:34 pm ET, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in the same month was 2.06% up, selling for $24.29 per barrel at 4:36 pm ET.
