Spain has record high 769 new COVID-19 deaths

The death toll from coronavirus surged by 769 or nearly 19% over the past 24 hours to 4,858 in Spain, the country's health officials announced on Friday. The daily jump in fatal outcomes from the infection was at its highest level since the beginning of the outbreak.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 64,059, adding 7,871 or 14% infections compared to Thursday's figure. However, Spain's growth in the new coronavirus cases slowed down from 8,578 recorded yesterday.

According to Spanish officials, a total of 9,357 residents successfully recovered from coronavirus-related diseases while 4,165 people were in the intensive care units due to their critical condition.
