S. Korea COVID-19 cases rise by 76 to 9,661

Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) revealed on Monday the number of people infected with the COVID-19 in South Korea increased by 76 in the past twenty-four hours to reach a total of at least 9,661.

Meanwhile, the nationwide coronavirus death toll stood at 152 as of Monday.

According to KCDC, the virus affects the elderly the most, with 1 in 6 patients aged 80 and above dying due to the illness. Additionally, the people from this age group reportedly make nearly half of the deaths seen in the country so far.
