Dow soars 600 pts as Microsoft, J&J surge

Wall Street extended gains on Monday with the Dow Jones jumping over 600 index points as coronavirus stimulus bill adopted by the United States remained in investors' focus. United States President Donald Trump said that his administration is considering adding a "hazard pay" amendment to the relief package to support medical staff and other citizens exposed to the infection in their daily work.

The Dow gained 2.83% at 3:11 pm ET as tech giant Microsoft added over 7% after the company announced that the number of daily Skype users jumped by 70% on a monthly basis, while Johnson&Johnson surged more than 7% as well after the pharmaceutical giant unveiled it will start human trials of its vaccine for treating coronavirus by September.

Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 soared 3.77% at the same time with Autodesk adding more than 10%. The S&P 500 went up by 3.14% as Universal Health Services gained nearly 11%.

The euro fell 0.81% at 3:21 pm ET, trading for $1.10444.
