Oil trades higher as US, Russia agree to talks

Oil prices moved higher on Tuesday after plunging to 18-year lows on lower demand coupled with the Russia-Saudi price war.

United States President Donald Trump spoke with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday on stabilizing the oil market, agreeing to continue consultations at the ministerial level on the crisis.

West Texas Intermediate for May settlement surged 6.27% to $21.35 per barrel at 2:30 am ET, while Brent for delivery in the same month was up 2.07% to $23.23 a barrel.
