Europe opens higher on upbeat Chinese data

European markets opened higher on Tuesday boosted by upbeat manufacturing data from China. The country's manufacturing sector rebounded in March as the spread of the coronavirus subsided in the country after dropping to a record low in February amid the lockdown due to the outbreak.

The FTSE 100 rose 0.59% at 9:00 am CET. Rentokil Initial led the gains as it soared 6.17% at 9:01 am CET.

The DAX jumped 1.70% at 9:03 am CET. The best performer was Bayer whose shares rallied 3.45% at 9:05 am CET.

The CAC 40 climbed 1.51% at 9:01 am CET with Saint Gobain surging 4.08% at 9:01 am CET.

The euro fell 0.44% against the dollar to sell for 1.09988 at 9:05 am CET and the pound slid 0.87% compared to the US currency to go for 1.23066 at 9:06 am CET.
