China export limits halting medical goods arrival to US - report

Export limitations implemented by Chinese authorities are making it difficult for companies from the United States to deliver medical equipment needed to battle COVID-19, State Department documents showed.

A number of companies have been impacted by the new rules in China, including 3M, PerkinElmer, GE and Owens & Minor, a Wall Street Journal report claimed. Their factories in China are unable to deliver needed goods to the US after Beijing decided to add new inspections on exported medical equipment and double-check that necessary medical products aren't being exported. Goods waiting in Chinese factories of American companies include gloves, masks and test kits.

A number of countries criticized China earlier for the quality of equipment that they bought from them, which prompted Beijing to introduce the new measures.
