UnitedHealth provides $1.5B relief to customers

UnitedHealth Group stated on Thursday it has allocated $1.5 billion to provide rebates for the company's fully-insured clients and waive co-pays on doctor visits for Medicare Advantage members until October.

At the same time, the company revealed its insurees will receive between 5% and 20% premium credit on their June billing statements as direct financial relief.

"Employers are hurting, individual consumers are hurting, and we felt it appropriate to get as much of this back in the hands of people as quickly as possible," UnitedHealth CEO David Wichmann said commenting on the decision.
