Boeing to pay Brazil's Gol $412M in 737 MAX case

Boeing will pay $412 million to Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes for the grounding of Boeing's 737 MAX plane, the Brazilian airline announced on Wednesday.

The 737 MAX in Gol's property has not flown in over a year, as a result of two deadly crashes that pulled the model out of the skyline. Gol had previously ordered over 100 Boeing 737 MAX planes, but the orders have since been reduced.

Gol has also confirmed that, given the 80% losses in revenue due to coronavirus pandemic, the settlement with Boeing will give the company a better chance to safely sustain operations for at least another ten months.
