Deutsche Telekom's revenue up 2.3% to €19.9B in Q1
Deutsche Telekom AG said on Thursday that its revenue for the first fiscal quarter of 2020 amounted to €19.9 billion, increasing 2.3% annually to miss estimates. The company's net profit rose 1.8% year-over-year to land at €916 million in the same trimester, while adjusted EBITDA grew 9.6% compared to the same period last year, reaching €7.56 billion.
The Bonn-based company's number of mobile customers in Germany went up by 1.7% in the first quarter compared to the previous trimester as Deutsche Telekom added 141,000 mobile branded contract customers in three months ending March.
"Deutsche Telekom is an anchor of stability in a global crisis. Our networks are working reliably as digital lifelines for society," the telecommunications firm's CEO Tim Hottges said in a statement.
