Bitcoin falls over 6%, trades below $9K

The price of bitcoin fell on Thursday as much as 6% and fell below the psychological limit of to $9,000 after it was reported that 50 coins mined in 2009 moved to another address. Even though some investors were saying it was bitcoin's creator Satoshi Nakamoto, the address is amidst the 16,000 addresses listed in a court document in the Kleinman v. Wright case. Bitcoin SV creator Craig Wright tweeted that it was him moving those coins even though he claimed on the court he lost the password.

The UTXO dates all the way back to February 9th, 2009, just one month following the creation of bitcoin.

Bitcoin went for $8,916.5, falling 6.16% at 3:01 pm ET.
