Trump, Macron discuss G7 summit organization

United States President Donald Trump held a phone call with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Saturday during which the two leaders discussed the organization of the G7 summit, among other issues.

"President Trump and President Macron discussed progress on convening the G7. The two leaders also discussed issues of mutual concern, including Hong Kong, Libya, and telecommunications security," White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere stated.

Earlier, Trump proposed for the G7 summit to be held at the White House despite the coronavirus pandemic. However, German Chancellor Angela Merkel reportedly refused to attend the event in person.
