Trump uses old law to deploy military and stop protests

United States President Donald Trump said he will stop protests in the country right away as he called on all governors to deploy the National Guard. However, he noted that if a governor refuses to do so, he will send the military to those states as he wants law enforcement to "dominate the streets." Trump can only do so by invoking the 1807 Insurrection Act. However, he noted he will protect the Second Amndment while doing so.

He blamed local governments, saying they did not react properly to the protests as monuments were vandalised and stores were looted.

Trump also called himself a "president of law and order" as he said protests across the country amounted to "domestic terror."
