Disneyland reveals plans for reopening in July

The Walt Disney Co. revealed plans for starting the reopening process of its United States-based resort, which has been shut for months over the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement, the company said it is still awaiting approval from state and local authorities, noting the phased reopening would most likely begin on July 9 with "enhanced health and safety measures" implemented. Its theme parks would be brought back to work on July 17, as the date marks a sixty-five-year anniversary from when Disneyland first opened.

"Disneyland holds a special place in the hearts of people around the world. It was created as a place where family members of all ages could have fun together – a place to “leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy.” Sixty-five years later it still is," the statement read.
