EIA: US crude inventories up by 1.4 million barrels

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States, which are not taking into account those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, increased by 1.4 million barrels to 540.7 million barrels in the week ending June 19, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Wednesday.

US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 13.8 million barrels per day, up by 239,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Refineries operated at 74.6% of their capacity, while gasoline production rose, averaging 8.8 million barrels per day.

Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 6.5 million barrels per day, 102,000 barrels per day less compared to the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories rose by 3.9 million barrels.
