Trump cancels New Jersey trip amid quarantine rules

United States President Donald Trump canceled a trip to New Jersey on Friday amid the state's quarantine rules despite his spokesperson stating earlier this week he intends to visit the Garden State regardless.

The president had planned to stay at his golf course in Bedminster over the weekend, however, New Jersey, along with New York and Connecticut, are now requiring all visitors coming from coronavirus hot spots to quarantine for 14 days. The president recently traveled to Arizona, where a growing number of COVID-19 infections is being reported.

"The president of the United States is not a civilian," White House spokesman Judd Deere said earlier this week when pressed whether Trump will cancel his New Jersey trip.
