Zuckerberg: FB to start labelling news-worthy content

Facebook will start labelling any content that is newsworthy but may otherwise violate the social network's policies, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said at a Facebook live event on Friday. Facebook will do so in cases where "public interest value outweighs" the company's content policy.

However, Zuckerberg stressed that Facebook will still remove any posts that attempt to surpress voting or call for violence. He pointed out that posts by political figures will not be an exception in this sense. Zuckerberg also announced that Facebook will ban any ads that claim a minority could pose physical harm to others as well as ads that "show disgust" towards migrants or refugees.

The comments come after companies like Unilever and Verzion decided to pull their ads from Facebook over the way the social media giant has been handling US protests and elections.
