Asia stocks surge after positive Chinese data

Stocks in Asia jumped in afternoon trade on Tuesday as investors digested better-than-expected manufacturing PMI data from China. Elsewhere, China's National People's Congress (NPC) unanimously passed the national security law on Hong Kong which bans protests and foreign interference in the city.

Hong Kong's Hang Send climbed 0.92% at 7:26 am CET. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.86% at the same time, while the Shenzhen Composite rose 1.83% at 7:12 am CET.

The Nikkei 225 surged 1.91% at 7:25 am CET. The dollar added 0.15% against the yen to sell for 107.7400 at 7:26 am CET.

In South Korea, the Kospi rallied 1.84% at 7:28 am CET and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 soared 2.12% at the same time.
