US shares mixed in premarket trading

Shares were mixed during premarket trading on Wall Street on Tuesday ahead of the last session of the month.

The month of June was marked by the partial reopening of the US economy and data that painted a bleak picture of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, as new virus hotspots emerged in the US, traders were cautious. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is set to warn lawmakers that the economic outlook remains uncertain in a hearing later in the day.

The Dow Jones was down 85 points at 4:20 am ET, while the S&P 500 fell 0.17%. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.17%.
