Europe opens higher after US jobs data

European markets kicked off the trading session on Friday with gains following the release of better-than-expected jobs data from the United States.

According to data for June, the jobless rate in the US fell for the second consecutive month despite the fallout from weeks of coronavirus lockdown across the country. IHS Markit composite PMI readings for Germany, the United Kingdom and the European Union were set for a release later in the session.

The DAX gained 0.29% in the first minute of trading as HeidelbergCement led the gains. The FTSE 100 was up 0.19% at the start of trading in London with ITV jumped 1.63%. The CAC 40 opened 0.20% higher, before turning flat.
