Facebook promises to improve policies against hate

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg said on Tuesday the social media giant is working on improving its anti-hate policies as numerous companies joined the ad boycott of the platform over its alleged failures to address the issue.

"Facebook stands firmly against hate," Sandberg noted in a Facebook post. "We have clear policies against hate – and we strive constantly to get better and faster at enforcing them," she added and admitted the company has to "get better at finding and removing hateful content."

Earlier, an array of companies, including Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Unilever and Verizon, paused their advertising on Facebook over the tech giant's post moderation policies. Meanwhile, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed confidence the advertisers will return soon.
