US industrial production up by 5.4% in June
Industrial production in the United States increased by 5.4% in June compared to May, the Federal Reserve announced in a report on Wednesday.
Manufacturing production was 7.2% up on a monthly basis, with the largest rise of 105% registered in motor vehicles and parts sector. Factory production elsewhere rose by 3.9%. Capacity utilization rose by 4.2%.
Mining production contracted 2.9% in comparison to May while the construction activity improved by 1.6 on a monthly basis. At 97.5% of its 2012 average, the level of total industrial production was 10.8% lower in June than it was a year earlier.
