WH willing to exclude legal protections from relief bill - report

The Trump administration is considering cutting a deal on the coronavirus relief legislation with the Democrats without the legal protections for businesses, Washinton Post reported on Friday.

The White House sees liability protections as "important but not absolutely essential," a person close to the executive branch told the news organization. Contrary, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the measure that would make it harder for workers and customers to sue was non-negotiable.

The talks between the administration officials and Democratic leaders are supposed to continue today after the Dems rejected a short-term deal that would have extended the unemployment benefits and preventing evictions.
