Bitcoin jumps 3% to reach one-year high

The price of bitcoin surged more than 3% on Friday to hit its highest level since August 2019 as investors' turn to cryptos amid the coronavirus crisis.

Spain is fighting to contain the rising number of coronavirus infections with the daily confirmed cases reaching its highest since April. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump hinted he could consider postponing the November election if the epidemiological situation in the country remain unstable.

Bitcoin gained 2.36% at 12:23 pm ET to sell at $11,377.75.
