Lukashenko expresses fear over possible 'massacre'

President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, expressed his concern about a possible "color revolution" supported by Russia and "hostile" Western powers ahead of the presidential elections in the country scheduled for August 9.

Speaking at a press conference held on Tuesday, Lukashenko expressed his concern about the presence of Russians who were transiting near Misk to Istanbul. "They had tickets to Istanbul, this is a cover since crossing the Russian border they had to demonstrate here and there that they were flying to Istanbul," Lukashenko said. "So far there is no open warfare, no shooting ... but an attempt to organize a massacre in the center of Minsk is already obvious," he added.

Belarus police arrested last week 32 Russians and claimed they were members of the Wagner mercenary group.
