Argentina, Mexico to make AstraZeneca vaccine

Argentine President Alberto Fernandez (pictured) and Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard revealed on Wednesday night that the two countries have reached agreements with AstraZeneca PLC to produce its COVID-19 vaccine for Latin America's market as soon as it is developed.

Mexico and Argentina should create between 150 and 250 million doses in the first batch after the University of Oxford finish testing on the vaccine candidate's effectiveness and safety. Fernandez added the vaccine will be delivered without any profits during the pandemic, while the production should start in the first half of 2021.

Besides the two countries, Brazil and Japan have recently also shown interest in buying the British COVID-19 vaccine after it gets created.
